MessageWatcher Launches AI Policy Builder, a Ready-Made Library of Compliance Rules for SEC, FINRA, and State Reqs

Built with AI help and kept up to date by MessageWatcher, the rules catch risky messages without sending any customer data to AI.

DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- MessageWatcher, which has helped regulated firms archive and monitor business communications for more than 20 years, today launched AI Policy Builder, a ready-made library of rules that spot risky language in employee emails, text messages, website content, and social media posts. The rules are organized around state and federal requirements for regulated industries, including financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, and legal.

Regulated firms are required to monitor what employees tell clients. Many monitoring tools do it by flagging individual words. That means an advisor who texts that paperwork is "guaranteed" to arrive Friday gets pulled for review right alongside one promising guaranteed investment returns.
AI Policy Builder's rules look at whole phrases instead, so compliance teams spend less time clearing harmless messages. MessageWatcher also updates the rules as regulations change, so nobody has to maintain a list of flagged words by hand. Each rule is labeled critical, high, or moderate risk, so firms can start with what matters most.

"Compliance teams kept telling us the same thing: they were spending a big part of every day clearing messages that were never a problem, and their word lists were always out of date," said Craig Dinan, CEO of MessageWatcher. "We built AI Policy Builder so that upkeep is our job, not theirs. We were just as deliberate about how we used AI. It never sees a customer's messages, so firms get the benefit without having to wonder where their data is going."

Within the AI Policy Builder, firms decide which rules to use. Before turning one on, they can preview the messages it would have flagged in their own archive, choose which channels it applies to, and decide whether MessageWatcher's updates take effect automatically or wait for their approval.

AI never reads customer messages. MessageWatcher uses it only to help draft the rules themselves; no customer communications or data are ever sent to an AI model, and every AI request runs through a secure enterprise account that strips out sensitive information. People on MessageWatcher's team review every rule before it's released.

AI Policy Builder is available now in the MessageWatcher customer portal, along with a short demo and a step-by-step setup guide. Firms evaluating MessageWatcher can schedule a demo at messagewatcher.com.
